We saw a LOT of products come through the door and more in the hobby that were small press items that do most of their sales direct instead of through traditional dealer networks.  We saw super-premium sets: Star Trek and Game of Thrones Inflexions from Rittenhouse, Outlander CZX and DC Super Heroes and Super Villains CZX from Cryptozoic, and 5 different Premium Sketch Sets from Dynamite.  All with varied reactions from collectors.  I'm certain the trend will continue, but I sincerely hope that we see some more reasonably priced options as well.  There needs to be something for everyone in the current marketplace.

2020 marks 20 years of Scifi Cards.  I dabbled with eBay and gaming cards prior to 2000, but it was in 2000 that I devoted my full attention to my family and to trading cards.  It started out as a good side gig that allowed me to be a stay-at-home Dad.  It has grown into much more with the website and doing 18 shows in 9 states during 2019.  I hope to improve my customer service this year, being more attentive to emails and messages.  I already have 12 shows booked for 2020, so the travel continues, but I'm looking at fewer shows down the road to focus on the website and direct sales.

]]><![CDATA[Busy August with new arrivals and 2 shows coming up!]]>Tue, 13 Aug 2019 06:35:10 GMThttps://www.scifi.cards/scifi-cards-blog/busy-august-with-new-arrivals-and-2-shows-coming-upBusy August keeping me on my toes.  Gearing up for both New Mexico Comic Expo and Colorado Springs Comic Con in the next 2 weeks.  Will be slow to ship until I get back from Colorado on the 27th.  Looking forward to seeing old friends and showing off new releases.

Speaking of new releases, we have had several over the last week.  I picked up Outlander CZX today, and am shipping all paid preorders before I leave.  Also have Star Wars Chrome Legacy now in stock and Leaf Metal Pop Century.  Grab these shiny products now before they are all gone.

It never fails, when I do a newsletter there is always a new announcement just after.  Upper Deck announced today that they are releasing the Marvel's Agents of Shield Compendium trading cards with over 20 actors signing cards for the series.  Email if you are interested, Upper Deck products cannot be listed for sale on the website.

New arrivals this week are Enterprise Archives: Heroes and Villains and Twilight Zone Rod Serling Edition.  Trek has all but sold out.  Plenty of Twilight Zone to get through though.  Looks like a great release with lots of cool signature cards.  Shipping NOW, as boxes are in stock and binders arrive today.

A couple of quick announcements...

Outlander CZX release date is August 14.  Invoices for balances will be going out in the next few days but not due until August 7th.  Still have Outlander CZX available to order.

I will be out of the office from July 30 to August 5th.  VERY limited communication during that time as I'll be driving most of it, taking my daughter to grad school at Penn State.

More news soon, I'm going to make these blog posts a more common occurance.

So let's try this again...

We've been in Arizona now for just over 2 years, and just moved into a new house.  I have a new office and am still unpacking some things, but the move has been good.

I've got retail presence at a store in Glendale and soon to have some space in a store in Scottsdale, so I should be all set for the holiday shopping here in town.  I still need to get some recent arrivals entered into the website so people can do their holiday shopping online too.

Not much more than an "I'm Alive" post this time, but more soon
